You Say Matzoh, I Say Matzo...We All Say Manischewitz! [Review

Is it too early to start talking about Christmas and Chanukah food?

Now, I'm not Jewish, but know how to make a mean matzoh ball soup and while I was in college, helped raise a little boy whose family was Jewish, so have participated in holidays and food preparation with them.?

Manischewitz is probably the best known producer of kosher food products in the US, and gave me the opportunity to check out some NEW products they have out for the coming holidays & New Year!?

Keep reading to find out how to WIN a Manischewitz Prize Package!

The first product I was sent was Manischewitz Turkey Broth.? I hadn't seen this product on the shelves before but was excited to try it.

When I opened the Turkey Broth, I was met with a very natural and savory smelling broth.? It actually surprised me how much the aroma of the Turkey Broth smelled homemade. The label on the can had a recipe for a delicious (and easy looking) Mushroom Risotto Recipe, but I didn't have the Arborio rice in the cupboard so opted for Braised Leeks instead!

Everything turned out great! The leeks had a nice depth of flavor to them, thanks to the Manischewitz Turkey Broth. I think I'm going to have to go stock up on this product, because now I really want to try that Mushroom Risotto Recipe on the label!

WHY BUY??

  • All Natural Ingredients
  • Kosher
  • No MSG
  • Fantastic homemade flavor
The next product we tried was the Manischewitz? Mediterranean Matzos. Most people know that Matzos by nature, are quite plain - this version kicks up the flavor just a notch with a lovely essence of onion, garlic and herbs.

My husband and kiddo, both liked munching on these Matzos. Pairs nicely with a slice of cheese and basil leaf for topping, or just by themselves.? If you're like my husband and think that most crackers have too much flavor that overpowers the cheese or whatever topping you have - this Mediterranean Matzo is a great "canvas" for your foodie adventures!

These Manischewitz? Organic Matzos are just like the traditional Matzo but made with all organic ingredients. I have a mint plant outside that is really taking off, so can't wait to try try the recipe on the back of this box, for Fatoush Salad with Spiced Matzo Crisps by Susie Fishbein - endive, mint leaves, cucumber, garlic, cherry tomatoes....YUM!

Jason's Cornflake Crumbs [distributed by Manischewitz] are a great alternative to regular ol' breadcrumbs.? You can use them on chicken drumsticks, to make onion rings, or check out this recipe I found online for Fried Leek Rings by Amy at "What Jew Wanna Eat."?

I made a tasty Goat Cheese & Spinach Stuffed Ranch Chicken? with Jason's Cornflake Crumbs, that turned out fantastic! Crunchy, creamy and savory all at the same time!

Ingredients:
  • 4 chicken breast halves or 8 chicken breast tenders

  • ? cup Hidden Valley ? Ranch Dressing

  • ? cup goat cheese

  • ? cup cooked spinach

  • ? packet of Hidden Valley ? Salad Dressing and Seasoning Mix

  • 1 cup corn flake crumbs or breadcrumbs
Directions: ?
Preheat oven to 350

Coat chicken pieces with ranch dressing, cover and place in fridge. Mix together in a bowl goat cheese and cooked spinach, sprinkle with Hidden Valley Seasoning Mix to taste (1 tsp?).
Place corn flake crumbs or breadcrumbs in a bowl and mix in ? packet of Hidden Valley ? Salad Dressing and Seasoning Mix.

Take chicken pieces one by one and coat with breadcrumbs, once chicken is coated in breadcrumbs, slather the goat cheese mixture between two pieces of chicken (like the filing in a sandwich). Place each chicken ?sandwich? on an oiled cookie sheet or baking pan.

Cook for 20-25 minutes until cheese and spinach mixture is hot and chicken is crisp and golden.

Enjoy!

Finally, for a tasty and healthy snack....heck this tasted like DESSERT to me - try Guiltless Gourmet's Toasted Almond Crunches [distributed by Manischewitz].? Think, Almond Roca meets Peanut Brittle but without the sickening sweetness.? Made with only 5 all-natural ingredients, makes for a no fuss, healthy, protein packed snack!?

In my town, they are sold at Sprouts stores. Check out where to find Guiltless Gourmet products near you, HERE.

WHY BUY?

  • Gluten Free
  • NO GMO Ingredients
  • Vegan
  • Only 7grams of sugar & 3 grams of fiber per serving
